The first clicking press machine was used by a shoe manufacturer in the 1800s. Finding that a machine blade produced faster and more accurate results than cutting by hand revolutionised the shoe manufacturing industry. The advance of this machine has extended to include cutting multiple soft or semi-rigid materials such as leather, rubber, cork and foam, to name a few. LSG Machine Tools offers quality refurbished clicking press machines, perfect to create and manufacture products from sheets of flexible material.

The Flatbed Die Cutting Method

The versatility of the flatbed machine allows for cutting through any type of material. The systematic method of raising and lowering the die onto the material produces accurate results. In instances where the die products require adhesives, flatbed die cutting is ideal. Unlike other clicking press machines, the tools and dies used in the cutting process are far more cost-effective with the added benefit of doing quick changeovers.

How a Clicking Press Machine Works

Almost every home has an item in it that has been manufactured by a clicking press machine, whether it is circuit boards, leather belts or playing cards. The thickness and firmness of the material determine the type of machine to use as well as the cutting die.

  • A steel plate forms the base of the cutting platform onto which the material is applied to be cut into the desired shape.
  • After the material has been placed and the cutting die positioned, the buttons are used to lower the beam onto the material and cut out the shape.
  • Moving the beam to the left or the right allows repositioning for multiple die cutting.

Clicking press machines are suitable for low or high-volume production.
